MY STORY:
I have a Fig tree in my backyard..... but not producing nor ripe yet...but will ripen at the end of July and into August. I also have a ton of Mint plants which you can cut from for salads....use to replant in your yard which grow like weeds.
I am also an expert bread baker and can trade loaves of bread for your avocados and lemons. My specialty is a Dill and dried Minced onion bread which my mother always made which was a hit in our family growing up. I also make Boston Brown bread from molasses in tin coffee cans, Rye bread with caraway seeds or no seeds, cinnamon raisin bread, Banana raisin walnut bread, plain white, corn bread, butter milk biscuits, and plain rye bread and whole wheat bread. I can add seeds to any bread you like such as Flax, sunflower, Hemp, pumpkin, or crushed nuts of walnuts, pecans, peanuts, etc. So I can trade my bread for a bag of your fruit or garden veggies.
I also make my own jam from any type of fruit....especially Figs, Rhubarb and Strawberries. I made 18 pints, one quart, and 4 half pint jars of Rhubarb jam this past Sunday June 27, 2021. I can make any jam you want .....but only if you supply the fruit and the 5 pound bags of sugar since it takes a lot of sugar for each pound of fruit...and the boxes of Sure Jell pectin......and I then can it in glass Ball or Kerr jars....if you supply the pint or half-pint size jars and the new lids and rings since they are expensive.
Jam making is a full day process since it takes 4 to 5 hours of boiling the sugar and fruit and constant stirring so it doesn't burn....until it is boiled down to a thick jam consistency. So I can trade that skill for some of your fruit and return canned jars of jam to you in exchange for your fruit.
I am looking for Rhubarb, Lemons, Avocados, Oranges, and all kinds of green veggies and tomatoes, for my Vietnam War unemployed disabled Dad whom I am feeding during this pandemic. I also supply a convent of Nuns from my parish church who are too poor to buy much fruit and veggies.
I also am able to pick your tree with my long telescopic fruit basket pole which can reach to the top of a 2 story building. So if you are elderly or can't do the picking work and labor...... I can do it for you for a share of the fruit.
If any of you can help me out please send a message here....or email me at my personal email address of [email protected]. Phone number is 310-659-0143 to discuss your needs and what you have to offer me. I am near La Cienega Blvd. and Pico Blvd.
I live near LaCienega Blvd four blocks west along Pico Blvd so hopefully your house will be near me or within a short drive. Hope to hear from you with your trading offer!!!! Roger the Dodger
